Danielle at The Introverted Book Nerd has nominated for this award around 47 years ago and I found it in my drafts today and decided to answer it finally! Thank you so much for the nomination, Danielle, I am very, very happy to receive it and honored! If you don’t know her blog, do check it out (also if you know it!) – apart from having the most relatable blog name ever, my Ravenclaw sister also kills it with her reviews and is a very sweet person!
THE RULES:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
2. Write a post to show your award.
3. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
4. Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers.
5. Select 15 other bloggers you want to give this award to.
HOW MY BLOG STARTED
Working with something related to books has always been something I dreamed of doing, but not too easy to get into the industry. As time passed, I decided to follow my passion for the exact sciences instead and study Engineering – but now that I’ve graduated and started a job, it didn’t completely fulfill me. I missed something. So I started this blog as a hobby to fulfill the part of me that wanted to do spread the word about the amazing books out there. I wanted a platform where I could express my thoughts and discuss with people who had read those books, too. I have generally LOTS of opinions on what I read and I am always curious to know if other people thought the same about those books! Since not too many people around me read the kind of books I read, blogging was the way to go.
MY ADVICE
- Put effort into reading and leaving comments on other blogs! The interaction with the community is seriously the best part of blogging. You could really form friendships just out of realizing you like similar books (or hate similar books), and it feels really good to support people who genuinely have great blogs! There are so many talented people out there, and the bloggers are very sweet and kind people.
- Don’t feel pressured to read the newest releases, getting the best ARCs, etc. It does not matter – what should matter is what YOU want to read and review. Just because the book you read was published in 1856 doesn’t mean people won’t want to read your review! Your passion for what you read will show more if you read what truly creates a spark in you.
MY NOMINEES

The reason why you started your blog sort of reminds me why I started writing in the first place. It’s that gene of creativity… it just can’t leave me alone. And I’m grateful for that!

I’m so glad you relate to that! It makes me feel a bit odd sometimes to be in a not-humanistic area and still have such love for reading and a need to talk about it.

I know how you feel… most people in my sector care only about numbers, statistics and markets. Well, I love those things, too. But I also love fantasy. What’s wrong with that?

Nothing at all! It’s great that we are so eclectic! 🙂 🙂 Please do consider yourself nominated for this award too, if you would like to do it! I love your Instagram SO MUCH, and your reviews are quite lovely (I just read the Heartless one).

Thanks for the kind words! 💕 Great advice and that’s so cool that you are an engineer! That’s a hard subject! I know I would have never been able to finish that degree! Go you!

Thank you, that’s so sweet of you to say! It’s not hard as much as it’s lots to do. Which I suppose most majors are as well anyways!

I’m terrible with math. It would have been really hard for me!

I know quite some people who aren’t good in Math and graduated anyways. But it’s far better to do something you actually love, or at least like!

Thank you so much for tagging me!! I totally agree with you about ARCs- I used to request a lot of them, but then I realized all the ones I was getting, I didn’t enjoy AT ALL and finally I was like “why am I reading these when I have tons of unread books I’ve been wanting to read on my actual shelf??” And it’s helpful to see everyone who does read ARCs read them and review them before I decide if I want to read it- going into ARCs with limited feedback is a little too “blind reading” for me!

Thanks so much for tagging me! I’ve already received this award, sadly. I’d totally redo it, but I feel like my answers would be pretty much the same. I’f you’re interested in reading that, here’s the link:

I like your advice better, especially not feeling pressure for new releases or ARC’s. I used to get ARC crazy, but now I only request authors I already love or series that I follow. I try to reign it in.

I will read your post, sorry for not realizing you’d already answered!
And yeah, it’s a lesson I’m learning myself and I’m struggling right now to read an eARC and considering DNF-ing… such wasted time on books I’m not that interested in…

Oh no problem! I love being nominated either way. Plus, I do redo them. Just, some awards/tags aren’t really great for redo’s. 🙂
