The Playlist Shuffle Tag

I’ve been seeing this tag around and it’s so fun to read people’s answers, so I was pretty excited when Birdie @ Birdie Bookworm tagged me! Her lists is so fun, I was such a big fan of Jewel and Michelle Branch as a teen, her playlist made me add a few more songs to my own 🙂

Sooo, I’ll start saying that my playlist has A LOT of stuff I listened through various phases of my life… from my 2000s Pop phase, going through my Classic Rock phase, all the way to my Depressive Songs Are Everything phase… you’ll see.

Rules

  • Put your music on shuffle and list the first 15 songs to play (no cheating).
  • Tag 10 others to do it as well.

My Playlist

Most Girls – Hailee Steinfield

This is a new addition, and it’s such a fun, positive song I was very surprised when I heard it last year… (or this year?) and it immediately made it to my playlist!

King of Anything – Sara Bairelles

I love Sara Bairelles, and this is one of my favorites from her! Gravity and Brave are my favorites, too, and I just find her songs so real, a bit quirky and she’s generally a person I admire a lot!

Stupid Girls – P!nk

A classic, really! I love P!nk so much, I was obsessed with this song for a while. I own very few CDs, but hers is one I made sure to buy. She’s awesome, positive, fierce and unapologetic and I love her.

Rockabye – Clean Bandit

I love how this song is about a single mother, I love the rhythm and the lyrics and I can’t help singing along every time this comes up.

Kiss Me – Sixpence None the Richer

Hehe this song is so sweet and brings me right back to being on my early teens in English class, I remember having to write these lyrics down for an assignment and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out what they were saying!

Champagne Supernova – Oasis

STORY TIME! My parents are big fans of Oasis and I’d listened to them for a really long time, and then at 13 or so got a major crush on a boy who was a huge fan of Oasis and he had a band (could I be any more YA contemporary cliché?), so this was the first Oasis song I learned by heart because I knew he liked playing that one… and it’s still one of my favorites to this day, although I love Don’t Go Away. The crush ended at some point, but my love for this band didn’t! We watched them in Rio de Janeiro many years ago and was hella fun.

Natasha – Capital Inicial

A fun Brazilian song!! I need to add a few more to my playlist, really. I love this one, the lyrics are a bit crazy hahaha

We’re Gonna Be Okay – Andie Case

ANDIE CASE IS UNDERRATED, there I said it. I love this original from her, and also her cover of Pillowtalk and basically anything she sings.

My Girl – Dylan Scott

Also a new addition to my playlist and it’s so cute ❤ ❤

Somewhere Only We Know – Lily Allen

I love Keane, but I have to say I like this cover of Lilly Allen for Somewhere Only We Know way more.

Breathe No More – Evanescence

Evanescence is LIFE. Amy Lee is my dear wife of many years, I’m ready to fight on the mud for her.

Where Did I Go Right – Hilary Duff

Aaaand it was taking too long for the more embarrassing stuff to come up. But yeah, I was obsessed with Hilary Duff and her songs still make me fell like Girl Power and I so convinced when I was a teen that I’d be a singer one day, too! #confessions

Pieces of Me – Ashlee Simpson

I don’t actually like this song that much, but it brings back lovely memories, so I keep it in my soundtrack!

You – The Pretty Reckless

I love The Pretty Reckless and I’ve listened to this song on repeat so much. I love their songs to be a soundtrack while I write!

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – Taylor Swift

I only listen to Taylor Swift because my sister keeps me up-to-date with what the ~cool people listen to nowadays. When she was a teen and super into Justin Bieber, I honestly thought he was a girl and must have said at least twice “What a cute voice she has!”, much to the ire of my sister, who didn’t know how clueless I actually am about current music. Thank god for her and Spotify to keep me cultured. So yeah, through her I became a fan of Taylor Swift and we went to a Red concert with our mom because my family is cool like that! Hahaha

Sooo… I’m not tagging anyone because I think most people have done this tag already. But if you haven’t and you wanna do it, please consider yourself tagged! 🙂 🙂

  3. Oh my gosh, so many good songs here! I think we’ve got similar tastes, honestly! First of all Gravity is one of my most favorite songs EVER! I also loved Kiss Me… makes me think of She’s All That, which is like a 90’s classic! Pieces of Me was another of my favorites! I need to put that back on my phone, cause I suddenly need to sing it. (And who doesn’t get hooked on Taylor Swift!)

    Awesome list!
