The Sunday Snuggle W27/2018 #TheSundaySnuggle

Hello readers!

It’s been quite a week, and today it’s more of a Sunday Struggle than a Sunday Snuggle, as I am on my fourth cup of coffee, trying to stay awake on a lazy afternoon. My chores await and I am carefully avoiding them.

This week my Kindle Unlimited subscription ends – so this is the last Kindle Unlimited haul for a while. I wasn’t able to read all the books I borrowed, but that is okay! I managed to read 11 books, so I think it went well!

On Kindle Unlimited I got:

18458886

On Netgalley I was approved for:

31019831

Aaand my boyfriend and I went to a date on Saturday to a bookstore, where I got:

He charmingly offered to carry the books for me and, take notes guys, that is how you conquer a girl’s heart (jk). That and the fact that he just made me my fourth coffee today so I could blog about books while he does some house chores. The 3 Bs of love: beverages, books and breaking the patriarchy! (yay!)

My Readings This Week

hope never dies andrew schaffer

Hope Never Dies comes out July 10th! This is a noir murder mystery starring… Obama and Biden. Yes, really. It’s ridiculous and hilarious. More details on my GR review.

free chocolate amber royer

Okay so Free Chocolate might be the book that converts me to a space opera lover. The Star Wars books are great and all, but Free Chocolate has such great elements of politics, drama, chocolate, hot alien boyfriend, Latina main character, conspiracy and heist. I’m loving it so far!

This week I DNF-ed The Blight of Muirwood by Jeff Wheeler. I wanted to love this book so much, as the first one was so great. But the not-so-subtle hints of religious influence on the first book became very explicit in this book, and it clashed with my beliefs, so I decided not to go on. Here’s my review if you want details (I read 80% of it).

  1. That’s unfortunate about the Blight of Muirwood one. I’m Christian but I cannot read super preachy/cringey conservative christian lit. Like, I want to be entertained, not lectured at 😂 also there’s if I wanted that kind of reading there’s other materials. It sounded good too. Thanks for the heads up!
