Review: The Wife Between Us, by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen

the wife between us greer hendricks sarah pekkanenRating: ★★★★☆

Genres: Psychological Thriller

This was another of the thrillers to come out in 2018 that just caused so much talk in the bookish community! And with good reason.

In The Wife Between Us, Vanessa has just received shocking news: her ex-husband, who she divorced just a few months ago, is getting married again. And very soon. Her replacement, a gorgeous, young woman, is already starting to try wedding dresses. Vanessa suddenly knows one thing: she cannot let this wedding happen. But in this story, nothing is what it seems. If you assume, you’re already wrong.

This book is such a whirlwind! There is a lot going on, there is a lot of tensions throughout the book and it’s so full of twists I was rendered speechless – more than once. Vanessa is such an interesting character, she is complicated and meticulous, but also clearly having a difficult emotional time. I cannot go into details without giving away too many things, so I’m keeping it short – if you want to embarrass yourself in public because you yelp “WHAT” out of the blue, pick this up! It also works quite well as an audiobook.

I ended up deducting a star because the twists were a bit too many for my taste. Made the story a bit too unbelievable, sometimes. Otherwise, I am obsessed with this thriller and cannot stop thinking about it. Thankfully, there are other books by these authors coming out and I look forward to Anonymous Girl!

    • Totally understandable. But since there was another book by the authors that I wanted to read even more, I figured it was time to start with this one. But you’re right, I postponed it a lot because it got so hyped.
