The Sunday Snuggle Week 35 2019

Hello readers!

This week I had vacation, so I could pick up a few books! And now it’s September, so I will be joining the readathon that Rachel & Hannah created for reading ARCs! I have started a bit early by joining Chelle’s 72h Readathon, and will list down below what I read for that.

This year is going by so fast, it’s crazy. I’m a little over 80 books into my reading challenge, which is SO much and I am quite surprised by how much I read already this year. How are your reading challenges going? Do you have any personal challenges that aren’t just the amount of books you read?

My Readings This Week

20 mil leguas submarinas jules verne

I am getting close to finishing 20 Thousand Leagues under the Sea! I’d hoped to have it finished by now but alas, it was not meant to be. But I’m excited to be done with it soon!

the bromance book club lyssa kay adams

I finished The Bromance Book Club! This is certifiably CUTE and funny and more realistic on relationships than I thought it would be. One of my favorite romances of the year so far!

sphere michael crichton

I read Sphere on my flight! This was deliciously fast-paced and science-y.  I really enjoyed Timeline by the author as well, so I expected to like this one, too. If you like hard sci-fi and thrillers (and some goriness), I highly recommend Michael Crichton’s books. I do have to warn that they don’t age very well – women and people of color are not very well characterized. But if you’re able to still enjoy the read, it’s really fun.

lock every door by riley sager

I started listening to Lock Every Door! I’m about 30% in and I’m saving more of it to listen to during my next flight. It’s really intriguing so far!

mansfield park jane austen

I started Mansfield Park! I kind of decided to pick this up on a whim, and now I think it will take a while to read it because I’m reading so many books in parallel and I want to get through more ARCs this month! So I think I’ll make slow progress here.

  1. Hooray for joining our readathon! Hannah and I are mostly failing at it so far, but I hope you are doing better. And I’m glad you’re enjoying Lock Every Door – it was such a fun and creepy read. I need to read more Austen, the only one I’ve read is Northanger Abbey (random place to start, I know) but I think I want to read Mansfield Park next, so let me know how it is!

    • Yay! I’ve read a total of 0.5 ARCs so far only and it’s been 8 days #sendhelp

I haven’t read Northanger Abbey yet! Not counting Mansfield Park, I think it’s the last one for me to read still! So far, P&P is still my favorite and I am unashamed of how basic I am.
