Mini-Review: Behind Closed Doors, by B. A. Paris

Behind Closed Doors B A ParisRating: ★★★★★

Genres: Thriller

Goodreads

Jack and Grace are a perfect couple – he is handsome and rich, she is charming and loving. But behind closed doors, things may not be so perfect after all.

This was the second B. A. Paris book I read, after The Breakdown, and I loved it so much. I am partial to books about couples that aren’t what they seem, so I was definitely inclined to like this one anyway. I listened to this in audio, which was absolutely brilliant! It was so well done, and kept the story just as (or even more) gripping and intense as reading it would have been. This is a whip-smart thriller that I highly recommend.

  1. I’ve been wondering whether I should try B. A. Paris, and this is the one I’ve most had my eye on. Knowing it was a 5-star read for you, I think I’ll definitely have to check it out!

  2. Any book synopsis (and there are so many!) that start with “the perfect couple” is absolutely a turn off for me. By perfect, authors typically mean beautiful and polished family members, a large and beautifully decorated home, wealthy or well off, and stunning children. Never once have I met such a couple and felt that the air around them didn’t feel strained. Why wouldn’t it; keeping up that kind of lifestyle is a job unto itself. The author never means the prefect couple are two people who laugh, have fun, hold hands, and enjoying being around each other.
