The Sunday Snuggle: Weekly Wrap Up W2/2020

Hello readers!

It’s been an eventful week, with going back to work and remembering what it’s like to wake up with an alarm (not great).

Next month I will be participating in #FFFeb! I have decided on a TBR, and thankfully most of it are ARCs. This week I will post it plus a list of recommendations – I’m really hyped for it!

February there will also be #Tropeathon! I need to think about what I will read then, but it depends how FFFeb goes, and I’m hoping to use a similar TBR for both!

I was hoping to start Ducks, Newburyport this week, but then I realized I have 5 ARCs due this month, so I’m trying to get through those first and then pick up Ducks before the month is over. I definitely want to finish it before the longlist of the Women’s Prize comes out, because then I am sure I won’t pick it up anytime soon if it’s not listed there

This week I received from Edelweiss:

Weekly Wrap Up

Fleishman Is in Trouble by Taffy Brodesser-Akner / Review ★★★☆☆

This is a very witty and funny read so far, with surprisingly poignant and emotional moments in between. I expect I’ll be in tears by the time this is over.

Cleanness by Garth Greenwell / eARC Review ★★★☆☆

This was a bit of a strange read for me, since I’m not really into erotic fiction and I wished it had more of a plot, but the writing was so beautiful and I found the discussion of LGBT+ issues in Bulgaria such an interesting and enlightening topic to read about. It was also presented very naturally into the story.

My Dark Vanessa by Elizabeth Russell / Review to come soon ★★★★☆

This was an explosive, dark, sad read. It took me a few chapters to really get into the story, and it has one of those unlikable main characters that aren’t easy to cheer for (which I thought was really well done!), but after that, it was an all-consuming read.

Miss Austen by Gill Hornby / Goodreads Ongoing

I’ve just started this one, but so far I’m not too enchanted. It’s way too early to tell, however, if I will end up liking it or not, and I really hope so! I also hope this will make me more excited to pick up Mansfield Park eventually again.

Mansfield Park by Jane Austen / Goodreads Ongoing

Didn’t pick this up this week .

Bibliophile by Jane Mount / Goodreads Ongoing

I didn’t pick this up this week.

  1. I can’t wait for your review of A Madness of Sunshine and I look forward to your TBR for #Tropeathon. I haven’t even started thinking about my TBR and honestly I probably want until right before it starts. I like to procrastinate lol.
