Every year I try to come up with new reading goals for the year so that I try and read more of the stuff I’d actually like to accomplish, otherwise I just cave in to the hype of books that maybe I would not otherwise really be interested in! For 2020 I had planned to read less but that did NOT work out once the pandemic hit, so for 2021…
1) I’d like to read between 50 and 100 books
For comparison, in 2020 I read 135 books. I want to prioritize other parts of my life, go back to running, socialize (lmao) and so on.
2) Read at least 10 Brazilian books
I read like 7 Brazilian books this year, which is SO little. And yet, they shone really bright and I found a few favorites, and so I’m really looking forward to picking up more! Above are some that I already own and would really like to get to soon.
3) Read more science non-fiction
This sounds a bit vague, but I read like 4 science/tech non-fiction and I LOVE these books, so it makes no sense that I don’t read them more! From memoirs by scientists/engineers/etc to humor books, I have my eyes on a few science/tech books that I would love to read this next year!
4) Read at least 10 Latin American (non-Brazilian) books
Also something I did a lot more this year, but there is SO much out there for me to read still! I particularly would like to focus my blog more on Latin American and translated reads, so this objective goes well together with that! Tender is the Flesh particularly sounds right up my alley!
5) Read more classics
I read a few this year but not nearly enough! I got a few classic books for my birthday and Christmas so definitely need to pick a few up!
6) Get my TBR below 100 books
LMAO I wish. This is highly unlikely but I think it’s worth trying to do!
