Hello readers!
How is February going for you? So far all we got was rain and fog where I live, but at least in terms of reading the month is going pretty great – I got a lot more reading done this week than I thought I’d be able to!

Weekly Wrap Up
Midnight Robber by Nalo Hopkinson / 4 stars
I sped this up on my audiobook and was finally able to finish it this week! I loved the way the author used language, and the world she created is so unique, if you’re looking for a Caribbean fantasy to read, I highly recommend this one.
Illusion by Paula Volsky / 4 stars
I also finished this! I loved it so much, and only some pacing issues and the fact that I wanted more out of some characters stopped me from giving Illuison 5 stars. This is such a great book, wonderfully written and so charming. I miss reading it already.
The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris / 4 stars
I read this so quickly – it’s such an amazing horror book (not exactly a thriller, in my opinion) that kept me on my toes and it absolutely gave me Get Out vibes, so if you watched that movie and loved it, I highly recommend this book!
It Is Wood, It Is Stone by Gabriella Burnham / 3 stars
This Sapphic novel is set in Brazil and written by a Brazilian author. In the end the writing didn’t quite agree with me, and I had different expectations from what this book turned out to be, so I think if you go in with no expectations you’ll like this a lot more than I did. What I loved, however, is how much I saw of myself in this book, and that was a super cool thing for me.
Ain’t I a Woman: Black Women and Feminism by bell hooks / ongoing
I just started this and it’s incredible so far!
The Fifth Season (The Broken Earth, #1) by N.K. Jemisin / ongoing
I read like, two pages so far, but I already love the writing! Really excited for this one.
Enjoy your reading!
