Hello book lovers!

December 21st was my birthday! That, together with Christmas and my own jolly spirit of splurging on books for myself, resulted in a really nice book haul for this month! Without further ado, here is what I received and will hopefully get to soon!

Unhaul: Books I’m Giving to my Local Library

Resultado de imagem para library gif

Hello Book lovers!

As some of you know, I’m not a person who likes to keep all my books. In fact, I have two rules when it comes to books I will keep in my bookshelf:

  1. Did I not only like, but REALLY like this book?
  2. Will I realistically re-read this book within the next few years?

My Spring Cleaning Book Unhaul

Hello, readers!

I’ve been recently bitten by the bug of Spring Cleaning, and have been frantically throwing things for donation or directly into the trash. This weekend I included my books on this and, while I actually clean my shelves regularly, I came up with quite a pile:

(my Wintersong books look so beautiful next to my Court books)

I will not be doing giveaways with these books, because the last one was so recent. So we’ve donated them to the local library, which really needs a boost on their English section, anyway (I didn’t see any YA books!!!). A few of those I’ve given to friends and family. Continue reading

Birthday and Christmas Book Haul!

Hello bookworms!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! This is definitely my favorite time of the year, with all the excessive food, the loud talking after some glasses of wine, the cheerful spirits of it, the fairy lights, the gifts under the tree! My family is very fond of Christmas, so we always try to get together and open gifts on the 24th and spend the 25th playing, resting, eating leftovers and generally nursing the hangover after a hectic Christmas.

How My Book Ban Went + Book Haul (hahaha)

Hello, bookworms!

So I went on a book ban. My boyfriend challenged me to go not buy books for a month, and despite the misleading title (hehe), I made it!!

It was not too easy, really, especially on the first week it was borderline impossible not to buy a lot of books. I must have added like 50 books to my TBR in the meantime (probably more), and while I really wanted to get a few of those quite badly and there are one or two I actually still want to read this year, it was a good decision!

I went through the books I already had and made a big dent on my physical TBR, so I’m very proud of myself! Continue reading

Spooky Books I Got This October

Hello bookworms!

This is my October spooky book haul! I have reviewed a few books throughout this month with a more spooky, creepy and dark theme (from my Books I Want to Read for Halloween post), but throughout the month I got great recommendations for more spooky reads, and here is what I decided to get! I’m so into creepy books right now, let me know in the comments below if you have suggestions of dark fantasy, dark mystery and so on for me!

Spooky Books I Bought/Received This Month:

My Best Friend's Exorcism Grady Hendrix My Best Friends Exorcism, by Grady Hendrix

As said in the Frankfurt Book Fair 2017 post, I got this one from the Quirk Books and I’ll probably have already read it by the time this post comes up!

Synopsis: A heartwarming story of friendship and demonic possession. The year is 1988. High school sophomores Abby and Gretchen have been best friends since fourth grade. But after an evening of skinny-dipping goes disastrously wrong, Gretchen begins to act…different. She’s moody. She’s irritable. And bizarre incidents keep happening whenever she’s nearby. Abby’s investigation leads her to some startling discoveries–and by the time their story reaches its terrifying conclusion, the fate of Abby and Gretchen will be determined by a single question: Is their friendship powerful enough to beat the devil? Like an unholy hybrid of Beaches and The ExorcistMy Best Friend’s Exorcism blends teen angst, adolescent drama, unspeakable horrors, and a mix of ’80s pop songs into a pulse-pounding supernatural thriller.

Book Haul #2 July/August 2017 + I’M BACK BABY

Hello readers!

I am back! I want to thank you guys for sending me such wonderful and caring comments while I was out, I was very, very happy to read them. You’re all very sweet and the messages made my day a little brighter!

I took some days off to breathe a little and concentrate on getting better and disconnecting. Although I love blogging, it was starting to feel like a chore, so I took a step back from that as well. I’ve been slowly getting back to answering comments, reading posts and such, and the past couple days I’m basically back to the normal rhythm.

Things are getting better but there’s still a long way to go. Depression and anxiety aren’t fun to deal with, nor do they go away easily. If you feel like things have been getting too much, please look for help. Talking to friends and family WILL help and they will not think it’s stupid. If it feels too scary to tell them, write honestly what is going on, everything, in detail, just for yourself. Tangible things are easier to deal with, and simply seeing your problems in front of you can help you find a solution. Don’t hesitate to contact someone in your area, or try apps like 7 Cups of Tea.

So now I feel more like myself and I’M BACK BABY!

(don’t do like Sarah, take care of yourself 🙂 ) Continue reading

Book Haul #1, May/17

Hello!

I am having today my first book haul in this blog! As I started the blog a few days into May, I am not sure if the books below were the only ones I got, but are the ones I remember getting during my last bookstore trip. They aren’t many because I am trying not to hoard books, so sometimes there are months when I won’t buy books.
