OWNtober 2018 – my TBR, my thoughts and my painfully long list of books I should’ve read by now

bookshelf_2018_09.jpg

Hello readers!

Welcome to my most shameful post to date! Kathy from Books and Munches is hosting OWNtober, in which you attempt bravely to tackle your TBR, but with the books you actually own. Yes, that dusty pile of books that keeps getting higher and somehow you never get to see its bottom anymore and now you’re too stressed to actually know how many books the pile (or, let’s face it, pileS) actually has. I’m officially participating this year!

As official things must be, I announced it also on Twitter:

So, buckle up and let’s start with the first part of this challenge… LISTING ALL THE BOOKS YOU OWN AND HAVEN’T READ YET.

I’m so tense for this part, my gosh. By the way, the list might not have series listed together, because I have books kinda everywhere, so I made this list looking through different sections (books I have in my bookshelf, books in my boyfriend’s bookshelves, books from Amazon Kindle, books from Netgalley… you get it)

  2. What a list! A lot in there I should have read by now too, haha. I just finished a very intense and enjoyable thriller novel called Civil Terror: Gridlock written by J. Luke Bennecke. It makes you think about the potential implications of fast moving technologies we see around us today like self driving cars, and how they could be used against us. Made the suspense much more real believable and grounded. The great characters were very enjoyable and I felt like I was in the protagonist Jake’s shoes during the really tense moments. If you are interested there is more info on the author’s site- http://www.jlukebennecke.com/. There are supposed to be more in the series so I can’t wait!

  4. So, where are the reference books and history etc? I think you have double this number at home.
1Q84. Bought and got rid. Enchanting beginning with prot musing on her own “up skirting” long ladder climb, but that was deep only in a rather poor fashion for me the reader. A bit of dipping in later but overall very glam sexism tooled vindictive thriller. Odd that the Guardian had the leasing praise to make me buy it.
I’d possibly now choose it from a porn shelf but that is what you don’t do really.

Not talking to white people. I daren’t. Just the question is enough. Aha, caught as that is non fiction!
