The Sunday Snuggle Week 41 2018

Hello readers!

Aaaaand last week’s sore throat is now a full-on cold. But it’s okay, I just took lots of rest and did a bit of reading, when my head allowed. I was not as productive as I wanted, but being honest, I was sleeping a lot of the time…

This weekend my boyfriend and I did a readathon! It didn’t go super well, but I am still tired from illness, so I’m fine with the result. On other news, I have LOTS of videos this time on my recommendations. I was sick and quite bored. I’ve seen so many book recommendations, spooky TBRs and makeup tutorials this week. Please send help.

Despite not having read as much as I wanted to, I still got quite some reading done (do take into consideration I’ve been home all week due to my illness… this is not what I normally read in a week). My TBR is FINALLY under 200!!! Okay so my secondary TBR is still over 100 books, but WHO CARES.

My Readings This Week

crooked kingdom leigh bardugo

I picked up Crooked Kingdom! I had to finish this during the readathon, and I really enjoyed it! A very nice ending to the duology. It was a very fun series to read and I am sure I’ll be re-reading this soon. 4 stars!

before the devil breaks you libba bray

I finally listened to the end of Before the Devil Breaks You, as well. This series is PERFECT for Halloween! The perfect mix of creepy and charming, plus the awesome performance of the narrator really brings the characters to life. I love this series so much! I wonder if I should get it as physical books, too? I can’t believe I have to wait until the next one. I could easily binge-listen to this.

an unkindness of ghosts rivers solomon

I started An Unkindness of Ghosts as an audiobook! This is not a book to lightly enjoy – this sci-fi has difficult topics, and can be quite violent, although (at least so far), not too graphic. It’s an interesting story, eerie and chilly, where the last humans are living inside a ship navigating through space, heading to the promise land.

the resurrectionist e b hudspeth

I then picked up The Resurrectionist, a very interesting book telling the story of fictional Dr. Black and his creepy as hell experiments with vivisection… This book is so short it can be read in 2h or so, and it’s so interesting. The book did make me lose my appetite a bit… and isn’t that what you want from a horror book? Hahaha! 4 stars!

Bird Box Josh Malerman

I’ve been meaning to read Bird Box since last year, but I thought it was going to be perfect for October and… it did NOT disappoint. I think it’s such a difficult thing to create tension and actually making the reader feel scared, but I swear this book does it. It’s also a quick read (under 300 pages), so it’s pretty cool for a creepy evening! 4 stars!
