Spooky Books I Got This October

Hello bookworms!

This is my October spooky book haul! I have reviewed a few books throughout this month with a more spooky, creepy and dark theme (from my Books I Want to Read for Halloween post), but throughout the month I got great recommendations for more spooky reads, and here is what I decided to get! I’m so into creepy books right now, let me know in the comments below if you have suggestions of dark fantasy, dark mystery and so on for me!

Spooky Books I Bought/Received This Month:

 My Best Friends Exorcism, by Grady Hendrix

As said in the Frankfurt Book Fair 2017 post, I got this one from the Quirk Books and I’ll probably have already read it by the time this post comes up!

A Darker Shade of Magic, by V. E. Schwab

This sounds so cool!! I have already Vicious to read by V. E. Schwab and I normally don’t buy more than one book from an author I haven’t read before, but this just sounded so interesting!

Synopsis: Kell is one of the last Antari—magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel Londons; Red, Grey, White, and, once upon a time, Black.
Kell was raised in Arnes—Red London—and officially serves the Maresh Empire as an ambassador, traveling between the frequent bloody regime changes in White London and the court of George III in the dullest of Londons, the one without any magic left to see.

The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, by Agatha Christie

I mentioned this on the 12-hour Readathon post, but I didn’t get to actually read it during the readathon! I hope to get to it soon.

Synopsis: The peaceful English village of King’s Abbot is stunned. First, the attractive widows Ferrars dies from an overdose of veronal. Not twenty-four hours later, Roger Ackroyd—the man she had planned to marry—is murdered.  One Dark Throne, by Kendara Blake

After reading and reviewing Three Dark Crowns, I went and bought One Dark Throne literally the next day. I can’t resist, the plot of this series is very intriguing!

Synopsis: The battle for the Crown has begun, but which of the three sisters will prevail?
With the unforgettable events of the Quickening behind them and the Ascension Year underway, all bets are off. Katharine, once the weak and feeble sister, is stronger than ever before.  The Female of the Species, by Mindy McGinnis 

Ahhh this was $ 1.99 on Amazon Kindle, I couldn’t resist! The synopsis got me completely curious and the amazing ratings too!

Endless Worlds, Volume 2: A Collection of Dark Faerie Tales, by multiple authors

This was a recommendation from The Orangutan Librarian, and it seems very interesting, like a good thing to pick up and just get a bit lost in its world and chill. I have no idea when I’ll dive into this, but I hope it’s soon!

Synopsis: A DARK FAERIE TALE ANTHOLOGY featuring eight short stories by well-received and upcoming authors, delivering new Faerie Tales, and dark twists on inspired tales.
